Own a rental property?

Tell us what you have (student accommodation or residential, how many rooms or units, and where) and we will show you how it would run on our system. See What we do; for student accommodation, Rentlink Students for property managers; for residential rentals, Rentlink Residential for property managers.

Help with Rentlink Students

In an emergency, call the police on 10111, an ambulance on 10177, or 112 from any mobile phone. If your app has the SOS button, press it too: it alerts the security command centre for your residence. Do not use e-mail for emergencies.

I forgot my password

Ask your caretaker or the office to reset it. You get a temporary password and choose a new one the first time you sign in. If you are a property manager, contractor or estate agent, contact us.

Something in my room is broken

Open Tickets in the app and report the problem. You can follow it there, and you confirm when it has been fixed.

How do I get a room?

Browse the available rooms and send your details from the advert. The residence contacts you to arrange a viewing; the office then creates your account and enrols you.

How do I get the app on my phone?

See Get Rentlink Students.

How do I let a visitor in?

Create an Easy Pass in the app for the day and time of the visit and send it to your visitor. The guard at your residence checks it at the gate, together with the visitor's ID.

Why does my app have an SOS button, a Security button, or neither?

It follows the security our office has linked to your residence. Linked to an armed response service: the red SOS button. Security guards only: Security Support, for security matters in the house. No security linked: no button.

What happens when I press the Emergency (SOS) button?

The command centre and the guards at your residence are alerted at once and see who you are, where you live and, if your phone allows it, where you are. The command centre sends the armed response service. Your location is only shared while the alert is open. You can cancel the alert if you are safe.

What is Security Support?

A request to the guards at your residence about a security matter in the house, such as an unwanted visitor, noise or a break-in. You say what it is about; a guard attends to it and closes it with a note you can read. It is not an emergency service and shares no location.

Something in my unit is broken

Open Tickets in the app and report the problem. You can follow it there, and you confirm when it has been fixed.

How do I get a unit?

Browse the available units and send your details from the advert. The property manager or caretaker contacts you to arrange a viewing; the office then creates your account and enrols you.

What do I pay, and when?

A once-off R300 enrollment fee before you are given a unit. When you move in, a deposit equal to one month's rent, paid at once or over the first three months. Rent falls due on the 1st of every month. Enrollment & Rent in the app shows what is due, what you have paid and where your deposit stands.

When do I get my deposit back?

When you move out. The refund, and anything kept with the reason for it, is recorded in the app for you to see. If you disagree with what was kept, speak to your property manager or the office.
